On the newest Vantage? I like it a lot. It’s not better or worse than the previous.
I’m waiting for any 1:64 diecast models to come out. And maybe owning a used one in the future. Where’s everyone else at?
Here’s the previous:

The old Vantage was much prettier.

I like it, but if I had the money, I wouldn’t buy one.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:09 |

I mean, there isn’t such a thing as a bad Vantage
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:10 |

The wheels are absolutely too large in photos; I hope the issue is gone in person

My take: w
hen Toyota has better-looking grilles than your 6-figure sport cars
, you got a problem.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:13 |

It’s better than the Camaro SS. I’m sure we can agree on that.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:13 |

They’re probably 20s. Most sport cars rarely go beyond that.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:13 |
|
Why’s that.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:14 |
|
Everywhere else but the grill is good.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:14 |
|
Yes, I will agree.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:15 |

Too harsh for Saskatchewan roads.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:15 |
|
Yes, but in any colour other than black.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:17 |

And the newest Avalon.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:17 |

Looks fun, but only really good for a track rental.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:17 |

It’s a significantly uglier AMG GT, and yes, I’ve seen one in person. The front is new Camaro awful.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:17 |

No idea what those roa d s are like. Do they compare with SE Michigan roads?
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:17 |
|
I think it’s cartoonish and that they finally managed to build an ugly Aston Martin.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:17 |

i’ll take the old one. I feel liek Aston has always put looking classy infront of speed. The splitter/grill thing makes it look like its trying to hard to be sporty F1 car. It also looks like it needs glass es cuz its squinting.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:19 |
|
Mmmmm disagree...
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:22 |
|
Like this, but flatter, dirtier and with more wheat on either side.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:22 |
|
I like how it looks but a Mercedes engine and a ZF auto gearbox. Uggghhh. And Matt garage review was pretty harsh.
Maybe if I drove it I’d change my tune but I get the sense that I’d rather just have the Mercedes GT(is that the right name) or if I wanted something British with a common engine in a special car I’d probably go Lotus Evora. But besides both of those I’d rather just have a 911...
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:22 |

I have no clue what those roads are like. But think of loads of gravel parts, poor surface quality, and the occasional railroad track across a 100 km/h roadway.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:23 |
|
That’s a nice looking grid! Also, more canola.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:23 |
|
I like it...BUT it’ll probably depreciate as badly as the old one and having now driven three of the Astons my job has, I would never buy one.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:24 |

They do look huge
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:24 |

I would daily one if given the opportunity.

Until the maintenance bills drive you off a cliff.

On the fence, need to see one of the new ones in person. The prior gen v12 vantage with the manual is one of my top 5, money no object cars...
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:31 |
|
I love the old one. New one is growing on me, but only if it is this Tennis Ball color
The gray come second
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:34 |
|
I hope they’re not bigger than 20s.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:35 |
|
I like it, but I think the previous gen will age better. I’d probably have a V12 Vantage instead.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:35 |
|
Really? Are you sure about that?
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:35 |
|
In this imaginary world I would have 6-8 figures in my bank and probs wouldn’t care.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:36 |

You have...odd taste. But I respect it.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:36 |

I hate taking my Mustang on roads like this. A Vantage would be worse.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:37 |

Matt garage?
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:38 |
|
I’m not completely with the bright colors, they’re alri ght.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:38 |
|
This is great speculation.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:39 |

Would rather the V8 honestly.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:39 |

I'm not married to my opinion, but I'll stand by it.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:40 |

“ Farrah” autocorrected to “garage” I assume
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:42 |

Oh don’t give a damn what he says lol.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:46 |

if it follows the virage depreciation curve, I can own one 16 years from new
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:51 |
|
Have you seen a new Avalon?
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:53 |
|
Yes, the mandatory front plate in WA helps break it up. I think the entire point of my reply was that both Aston and Toyota has fugly faces.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:54 |
|
IMO it looks pretty good. Its about time they made a car that didn’t look 15 years old right off the factory floor. In case you couldn’t tell I don’t like the previous gen vantage appearances.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:54 |
|
I wouldn't stand on it at all. But I guess if I have to answer, I feel like the roof could handle it...
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:56 |
|
You might be the only one
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:57 |

Indeed, autocorrect. His review is pretty informative; big panel gaps, less bespoke interior than the past, really stiff ride, grabby brakes. So not a great DD but also not a track car and lacking in exclusive flair.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:58 |
|
In terms of looks, it’s a big improvement. I won’t miss the blobby lights on the old one.
I can’t get excited about the powertrain. Maybe it’s because I don’t particularly like new Mercs. An AMG engine replacing what was a sweet sounding, reliable, understressed 4.7L is a huge loss for me. Though I am interested to see if they’ll follow through on the manual promise.
The interior is truly awful. It’s a brand new car and it already looks fussy and outdated inside. With the control thing straight out of a C class. Yuck.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 21:59 |

The DB10 oddly enough is the best looking Vantage. I don’t hate the new one, but the previous Vantage looked better. I do really like the rear of the new car
![]() 10/23/2018 at 22:05 |
|
I really do wish that front end carried over from the movie.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 22:05 |

Tire/wheel combined is pretty big as it is a 20” wheel but with a 40 ratio tire and a 28” total diameter for wheel/tire . Old vantage was 26.7” in diameter for the combo.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 22:06 |
|
Derivative is good ( case in point the 911 being the best looking car ever made), but the vantage was just so blah for me. It evoked no emotion in my whatsoever. At least Ferrari’s makes me instantly angry, TVR’s induce gag reflexes and dry heaving , and Bentley’s make me want a monocle. The Aston’s tend to be just meh looking.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 22:15 |
|
I think they both are ugly in their own way... The old Vantage just looks way shorter than it should, length wise. This looks great, until you get to the front, which is awful. I think people love it more because they think they are supposed to love Aston.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 22:17 |

This one and the old one.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 22:21 |

I want a DB9 and I think it has the longer, sleeker shape that the Vantage lacks . But in all seriousness, the new one looks fine. It’ll take some adjusting to as it’s a bit more edgy than the outgoing one was at debut. B ut it looks good IMO.
Now scouri ng DB9s on CarGurus...
![]() 10/23/2018 at 22:34 |

The old Va ntage is one of the best looking cars ever made. The new one isn’t. Not necessarily bad, but not a home run like the last one.
![]() 10/23/2018 at 22:47 |

it’s in a weird uncanny valley between the old Vantage and the Vulcan/Valkyrie on the other side.
![]() 10/24/2018 at 08:07 |

I prefer the old one - I loved the classic styling, the proportions and the fact I can probably afford one someday.
![]() 10/24/2018 at 13:58 |

I like the old one (especially in V12 guise, wooooo!) better, but it definitely looks more upscale (especially the inside)
and bold, though less beautiful. That said, I love the RX-7 FD-inspired tail lights.

I like it, but I much prefer the new Vantage V12 V600. The front is just right and the whole thing in general is right
